Install Ice Cream Sandwich on your Galaxy S
Since the release of Android 4.0 source code, a few portages, more or less usable on a few devices have emerged on the forum of the hack. Understand on xda-developers.
The Galaxy S, which has now a certain age but has a great community behind it, was one of the first to be served. And served as the currently available version is quite usable. I also turned over several weeks.
The current builds are provided by TeamHackSung, the team in charge of CM7 on several devices Samsung. We can therefore califier this pre-CM9 ROM.
Here is how to install the latest build available.
WARNING: As usual, me or this website, nor the developers can not be held responsible in case of major concern with your phone. You are solely responsible for your actions.
This build is not without bugs, it is a version that you can consider as Alpha.
List of known bugs:
Video capture does not work.
Video playback is not hardware accelerated.
The front camera provides an overview distorted.
Not capture picture with the front camera.
Some CF in camera options. (Waiting for the Nexus S ICS source for a fix own)
Movie Studio application does not work.
FM Radio does not work.
The phone consumes unnecessary data on the screen unlock password, if you have one.
Wi-Fi is activated automatically after quitting airplane mode if you used the Wi-Fi during your session offline.
Data roaming enabled by default.
Formatting the external SD card, not possible.
Display the battery usage by Apps higher than normal.
If you're used to flash custom ROMs, you should have no worries.

Install the ROM firmware for Samsung Gingerbread based.
1. Rooter your phone and install CWM Recovery. (If this is done, go to step 2.)
a) Choose here the kernel for your firmware.
b) Unzip the archive for a file. tar.
c) Open the Odin software under Windows, check the box Re-Partition is unchecked.
d) Put the file. tar PDA box.
e) Place the phone Download mode and connect it to the computer via USB.
f) Start flashing and wait.
2. Flashing the ROM Android 4.0
a) Reboot in Recovery mode.
b) Make a wipe data / factory reset and wipe dalvik cache in Advenced.
c) Make a Nandroid Backup (optional).
c) Reboot in Recovery mode.
d) Install zip from sdcard.
e) Choose zip from sdcard.
f) Select File-ota-teamhacksung_galaxysmtd eng.BUILD9.zip in your internal sdcard.
g) Repeat with with Google Apps and Face Unlock patch.
Reboot your phone. Wait, start should not be very long. Well, now you can find Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or like me, love it!
To update the ROM: Repeat Part 2, without the b).
