Tutorial for Change / Repair Screen iPhone 4 or 4s
Step 1
Before starting to disassemble your iPhone make sure it is off and your mute button is positioned on activated
Step 2
Unscrew the two Phillips screws located on each side 3.6mm connector dock
Step 3
Push the back cover to the back cover haut.La must move about 2mm
Step 4
Now remove the back cover of your iPhone
Step 5
Unscrew the Phillips screws attaching the 2.5mm connector of the battery to motherboard
Step 6
Use an "iPod opening tool" to carefully pry the battery connector. Do this in two stages, starting with the top of the connector then finisser the bottom as shown in the photos.
Attention although separate contactors to prevent a short circuit.
Completely remove the switch.
Step 7
Use the plastic tab to gently lift the battery.
caution when you remove the battery with this tab. On some Apple device uses an excessive amount of glue to prevent removing the battery with this technique.
For battery "stuck" you can use "iPod opening tool" to pry (in this case encoreplus take precautions to nothing damage).
Sorter now the battery from its location.
before reconnecting the battery terminals make sure the switch (in red) positioned as in the picture. before reassembly, thoroughly clean all contact points of the connectors with degreaser such as "Windex". Oily substances from your fingers to cause short circuits.
Step 8
Use a paperclip or tools "SIM eject" that came with your iPhone to pull the SIM card slot.
Compared to the iPhone 3G/3GS, it is necessary to use a little force to enelever card slot SIM Now remove the SIM card slot of the iPhone
Step 9
Unscrew the two screws following
the 1.2 mm Phillips screw
Phillips screw 1.6 mm
Remove the thin iron plate covering the dock connector
Before replacing the dock connector, make sure you clean all contact points of the dock connector with a degreaser type Widex. The oils from your fingers could created short circuits after reassembly
Step 10
Use an "iPod opening tool" to gently disconnect the cable from the dock connector on the motherboard.
Step 11
Gently work the water the dock connector on the motherboard and the location of the speaker located on the bottom of the iPhone
Step 12
Use an "iPod opening tool" to remove the antenna connector located on the motherboard.
Step 13
Unscrew the Phillips screw 1.9 mm attaching the bottom of the motherboard to the case.
Step 14
Unscrew the 5 screws attaching the following connector cover to the motherboard:
One 2.3 mm Phillips
screw Phillips Two 1.6 mm
Phillips screws A 1.4 mm
A 4.8 mm Phillips screws
for reassembly, start up the four Phillips screws , 8mm and that of 2.3 mm, and then the other. This is to prevent damage to the LCD screen below it.
Step 15
Use an "iPod opening tool" to slightly lift the top edge of the connector cover to separate it from the motherboard.
use the tip of a "spudger" to remove the connector cover fixing its slot.
Remove the connector of your iPhone
before reassembling, make sure to clean all the contacts and connector point with degreaser type Windex. The oils from your fingers may create short circuits.
Step 16
Use an "iPod opening tool" for enelever gently camera connector to its location on the map mère.Maintenant remove the camera
Step 17
Off the small white sticker (warranty sticker and immersion sensor) surrounded by white photo.
Unscrew the Phillips screw located 2.4 mm below the sticker.
Step 18
Disconnect the following connectors located on the top of the motherboard
The digitizer cable
The cable for the LCD
cable to the jack and volume button
cable to the microphone mute button and
the cable from the camera before
The cables will be easier to remove with the tip of an "iPod opening tool". It will be easier to disconnect these cables with this tool
Step 19
Use a small screwdriver to remove the rivet 4.8 mm located near the jack
Step 20
Carefully remove the motherboard from the iPhone. Be careful that no cable is cut.
Step 21
Unscrew the Phillips screws attaching the 2.8 mm location loudspeakers to the inner frame of the iPhone.
Step 22
Remove location for speakers of the iPhone
before returning the location for speakers ensurer although all four paws EMI screen are well below the LCD
before reassembly, cleaned well all the points of contact of the connectors with degreaser as "Windex". Oily substances from your fingers to cause short circuits.
Step 23
Unscrew the two screws that retain the following vibrator to the inner frame:
A 6mm Phillips screws
A 1.4 mm Phillips screws

Step 24
Remove the Phillips screw 1.5 mm screw on the front panel next to the headphone jack
Step 25
Remove the 3 screws Phillips wide located along the volume button on the side of the iPhone
Each screw has a washer keep the good side.
Tip: This is a bit more complicated but it is also possible to Following the guide only loosened the 3 screws and do not remove them completely.
Step 26
Unscrew the Phillips screw 1.5 mm located next to the microphone located on the bottom of the iPhone.
Step 27
Unscrew the Phillips screw 1.5 mm located next to the water the dock connector located on the bottom of the iPhone.
Step 28
Unscrew the three screws 1.5 mm Phillips Large located on the side of the SIM card slot.
Each screw has a washer to keep preciously side.
Tip: You can also simply there to loosen the screws and do not remove completely.
Unscrew the small Phillips screws 1.5 mm located next to the mute button.
Step 29
Gently insert the tip of a "ipode opening tool" between the rubber surround around the front glass and the inner frame of iron.
CAUTION: Do not try to insert the tools between the contour and the rubber windscreen the iPhone
Pry very gently lift the screen as shown in photo number 2.
Step 30
Slowly and gently lift the top of the display assembly out of the steel frame of the iPhone.
Continue to gently lift the display assembly until the glue underneath the home button is starting to take off.
Then gently pull the lower part of the display assembly out of the iron frame.
Step 31
Slowly and gently lift the top of the display assembly out of the steel frame of the iPhone.
Continue to gently lift the display assembly until the glue underneath the home button is starting to take off.
Then gently pull the lower part of the display assembly out of the iron frame.
Step 32
Pass the cables "digitizer" and the LCD screen inside the inner frame.
before re-setting the display assembly sure though cables LCD and "digitizer" or not folded or trapped in the inner frame. This could damage the entire display or just help reconnect the screen to the motherboard.
Once all display correctly reassembled, you have to find the cables LCD and "digitizer" next and simply suspended above the steel frame
Thanks for sharing this post I also share with you some tip hope you like. I have the exact same issue on my iPod Touch 1st generation. Only difference is the perfectly round spot is in a different position on the screen. I also thought I had looked after mine... perhaps there is a manufacturing defect?

Nice I also share with you something hope this helpful for you my friends Mainly a reader on here, but thought I would chime in on this hot topic. I have had great success in the past for my old 3G with an internet repair service who offers great repairs on iPhones, iPods etc at exceptionally low prices -> Stores.ebay.com/iRepair-National . Right now their iPhone 4 screen repair service is on sale for $130, $70 less than Apple. Hopefully I won't have any issues with breaking my new iPhone, but if I do and Apple doesn't extend the hand of benevolence I will definitely be hitting them up again

With all the talk about how easy it is to break the iPhone 4′s glass screen (see here), it didn’t take SOMEBODY long to not only offer a replacement screen (both LCD and touch panel), but also post instructions on how to repair said glass breakage. Kudos to DirectFix.com on both fronts; even though they’re currently back-ordered on the actual glass, you’ll at least have a leg up on HOW to swap out your busted i4 screen.
