Many reasons exist for you to block a website on your computer. You can not have your children to sites that promote violence, drugs or pornography, or you can prevent access to sites that use adware and popups to your machine spam. Each Internet browser has a different way to block your computer from accessing certain sites. Two of the most popular Internet Explorer and Firefox, make it very easy for you to block websites.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Open Internet Explorer by clicking the link in the "Start" menu or the icon on your desktop.
- Click on "Tools> Internet Options. '
- Select and load the "Privacy" tab, click "Sites" at the opening of the tab.
- Enter the exact address of the site you want to block. Click "OK". Repeat for each additional site you want to block.
- Download the program BlockSite for Mozilla Firefox (see "Resources"). It installs automatically.
- Wait restart Firefox.
- Click "Tools> modules. '
- Click "BlockSite" in the menu modules and a window opens. Click "Add" and enter the URL you want to block.

Most browsers offer universal parent controls that allow you to block many types of sites in a single action.
Do not worry about accidentally blocking a site because you can easily unlock it.
